Susan M. Clarke has been writing professionally since she graduated from Emerson College in 1992 with a BFA in Creative Writing. In the past 15 years she has worked both in-house and freelance with a wide variety of music and entertainment clients, writing for marketing, publicity, and on-air promotion departments at Nickelodeon, HBO, Guitar Center, Comedy Central and many others. She has also utilized her vast musical knowledge to create press kits and artist bios for an extensive list of independent musicians, served as the editor of music magazines Cornfed and Miles of Music, and written user manuals for music gear companies including Spectral, ProLine, and Tascam.

Clarke also has extensive experience in television writing and production. Earlier in her career she wrote for game shows and talk shows for PBS, MTV, USA, and The History Channel. She was a writer/producer of on-air promotions for Comedy Central and a head writer of the same at Nickelodeon. Onstage, she wrote for several weekly sketch shows at the renowned ImprovOlympic West in Hollywood (including the House Sketch Show and Big News), where she was also a performing member of the long-form improv group Tigerpants. She has further channeled her energies as a songwriter and guitar player for bands in the Los Angeles area.
